Sipping in Spring!

As mom was prepping for guests, other tea party-related activities were in full swing...

A Cheshire cat you say?
"How many times must I tell you? I only take tea with friends!" Alice, Alice in Wonderland

The table was carefully set with delectable treats and fine china.

The first course included a springy vegetable and feta pasta salad served in a flower dish.
Loved the doilies under the cups!

Cucumbers piped with a delicate dill cream cheese - delightful, yet healthy!

Lady bug open faced sandwiches included hummus, tomatoes, black olives and chives.
How cute are these?

And the scones...raspberry white chocolate and to die for!
These are a tea partay girl favorite - mmm!

Pistachio Bundt cake with cherry glaze - even prettier when sliced.

The birthday girl! Jackie was celebrating her birthday and Mother's Day the next day so we celebrated a little early - she deserved lots of treats! Happy Birthday Jackie!

The girls! We sipped Montana Gold and Lavenderberry tea from Tea Source and threw in a little mango adult sparkling beverage for good measure - clink clink!

Pinkies up at Jackie's new house!

March tea partay was very exciting as Jackie hosted tea in her new home! It's amazing what one uncovers when unpacking as Jackie now had a place for her other grandmother's dishes - a pretty pattern with pink wild roses.

As usual Jackie prepared quite the spread!

The savory courses included rotini pasta salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. Followed by refreshing and creamy cucumber sandwiches on pumpernickel, pita sandwiches with tomato, hummus and bruschetta cheese. Also pretzel crackers with pesto and bruschetta cheeses.

On to the sweets! Pumpkin bread, cranberry orange petite scones and Boston cream cake!

Teas served included: maple cream, pumpkin spice and caramel sea salt black teas.

The tea partiers!

Congrats, Jackie, on your beautiful new home!

Kentucky Derby 2014

We purchased a new home in April and our first small get together was to watch the Kentucky Derby!
Kim, mom and I enjoying our mint juleps.

We don't throw any party without cucumber sandwiches and Gouda and crackers. I also served veggies and dip and rhubarb cream bars.

We also enjoyed a Pimm's cup in our mint julep glasses - such a nice housewarming present - thank you Kimmy!
