Mad as a Hatter...from Fashion Ball to Haunted Brunch...the Weekend Funsies Report

It was a fun, busy weekend and, of course, there was tea involved.

Kim and I began our weekend with a three-course meal at Basil's in the IDS downtown. The food was delicious, including the wine, as we overlooked Crystal Court.

Then it was off to Fashion Ball at the Ritz Theater. Fashion Ball is produced by Grant Whittaker who is also producing the United Way WINGs fashion show in April. They ended up putting the runway where we originally purchased tickets so they moved us to a table at the side of the stage directly under the DJ - fun! Awesome seats!

I love fashion shows that incorporate dance and video - it was similar to Glamorama, but a lot more edgy, wild, and out there! Good idea to check it out Kimmy!

Saturday Kim and I played "auntie" and took Tiffany's daughter, Amelia, down the rabbit hole to the Children's Theatre Company for a very merry Unbirthday party. Upon arriving, Amelia first wanted her face painted by Queen Holding Court who painted the white rabbit with gold glitter. Cuteness!

Next Kimmy brought Amelia to meet Alice. She wasn't shy at all and talked about Alice the rest of the afternoon. She then had a photo opportunity with the Red Queen (who I know as Rachel :) and the Mad Hatter - so cute!

We then went to the Maddest tea party with Eat Me food and Drink Me drinks compliments of our favorite tearoom, the Mad Hatter in Anoka, but which to choose?

The topsy turvey cake was so cute - the other side had the Cheshire cat's wide smile.

Tea time! The tables were decorated so cute - ours had huge white roses.
Amelia then wanted to create her very own Mad Hatter hat, which turned out quite cute with her name and flowers on the brim. She did it all herself.

While we were making hats, the winner of the raffle prize was announced...
yep...me! Two Delta airline tickets and a Mad Hatter pic later.
I wonder where I'll go?

Finally, it was time to play croquet with flamingo mallets, hedgehog balls and playing card hoops.
Amelia loved croquet. She said it was her favorite part and wanted to know where hedgehogs lived and what they ate - where is Emma when we need her? :)

Tiffany had Amelia dressed so cute in a floral dress carrying an owl purse. Before we left she wanted to say good bye to Alice. She also didn't want to leave. A very merry Unbirthday to you Amelia!
Sunday we headed East over to Forepaugh's in St. Paul.

Great pick Kate! The food was scrumptious!
We even enjoyed ghost stories over mimosas. Cheers!
