Royal Tea

You are cordially invited to a Royal Tea
on Saturday, April 14 at 12:30.
Wear your finest or your fakest diamonds
honoring the Queen's 60 years on the throne and
one year anniversary of Ka-Tea to Wills.
The table was set with King's Road tableware highlighting crowns emblazoned in 24k gold - that's right ladies, we dined on gold! King's Road is a major, well-known street stretching through Chelsea and Fulham, both in west London. It is associated with 1960s style and fashion figures such as Mary Quant & Vivienne Westwood. Tres chic!
Even the chandelier had to have some extra royal sparkle.

Admittedly, I had been collecting items for this tea party for more than a year, including
the fleur de lis napkins from New Orleans.

The table would not have been complete without a royal centerpiece to accent the teapots.

Who is that in my teacup? Each setting had its own royal family member teabag.

 Tiffany & Morgan.
Love Tiff's necklace and hair piece - nothing beats grandma's vintage jewelry.
Can you believe this is already Morgan's second tea party? Not bad for a three month old.

Tiff, Kim and I enjoying a peach champagne cocktail before the rest of the guests arrived.
The party beverage simply had to match the flowers.
It's hard to see, but I am wearing my Princess Diana replica ring pictured below in the menu.

The Menu:
So much food, it needed its own table.
(Not pictured - an enormous pot of spring minestrone soup.)

Thank heavens my mom and Kim came early
to help cut and assemble sandwiches.

Dessert!
Vanilla bean scones with coconut Devonshire cream.
Shortbread cookies and crown opera cakes!
Let's eat! (Note: We had two tables of ladies as we had a great turnout
including two mom's and two babies :)

Mary & Kim
Andrea & Morgan. Love the orange dress & necklace!

Jackie & Connor. This was Connor's first tea party.

My mom & I.

 Andrea and her mom, Erika.
Erika travelled all the way from Denver to tea party!
 Emma & Andrea
Kim & I
Tea party made me sleepy, but I woke up near the end.
Hello! Fancy meeting you here. Did you have a spot of tea?

Happy Anniversary to Wills and Kate.
I'm going to steep both of you in hot water to celebrate!

And what party would be complete without a gift bag?

All hail the Queen and her Diamond Jubilee!
Cheers!
